Scholars for Excellence in Child Care Career Technology Center Scholarship

Offered by Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education

About this scholarship

The Scholars for Excellence in Child Care Career Technology Center Scholarship helps eligible Oklahoma child-care professionals complete Early Education: Pathway to Your National Credential at a partnering technology center. The Pathway curriculum includes ten units and 150 clock hours of preparation toward the Child Development Associate credential. Scholarship recipients pay only 10% of Pathway tuition; the Scholars program pays up to $4.95 per clock hour and covers the curriculum and assessment materials. Participants also receive career advisement and may study through traditional, flex-track, online, or coordinated off-site options. This scholarship does not cover other CDA training offered by technology centers. Applicants begin with the official scholarship agreement and a scholar coordinator serving their area. They must remain employed at least 30 hours per week in a qualifying role at an eligible licensed child-care facility, enroll in the approved Pathway plan, pass each unit and the end-of-instruction examination, and complete the coursework within 12 months. The agreement becomes valid only after the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education issues an official approval notice, and funding remains subject to program appropriations.
