San Diego AEP College Student Scholarship
Offered by Association of Environmental Professionals, San Diego Chapter
About this scholarship
The San Diego AEP College Student Scholarship awards up to $2,000 to undergraduate and graduate students preparing for environmentally focused careers. Applicants must attend a university or community college in San Diego County or Imperial County and hold at least a 3.0 GPA at their current or most recent institution. The scholarship can fund educational expenses such as tuition, books, and research; the San Diego Chapter of the Association of Environmental Professionals issues the award directly to each recipient. Winners also receive complimentary admission to one chapter webinar or workshop, creating an opportunity to learn from and network with local environmental professionals. The online application requires current college transcripts, a recommendation letter, and an essay limited to two double-spaced pages with at least 10-point type and one-inch margins. The essay explains how education, training, volunteering, internships, or work influenced the applicant’s environmental career choice, then connects the applicant’s interests and goals with AEP’s mission and environmental assessment work. A recommender may send the letter separately by email when necessary. Recipients will be notified in September and invited, with one guest, to the October 2026 awards event. All form fields and required materials are due September 4, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.
