Saint Mary's University David Wang Scholarship
Offered by Saint Mary's University
About this scholarship
The Saint Mary's University David Wang Scholarship supports academically talented Chinese students enrolled in Canadian-curriculum high schools in China. Saint Mary's lists eight awards annually, valued at CAD $5,000 per year per student, to a maximum of CAD $20,000 per student. The award is partial funding because it is a tuition credit and does not cover full tuition, fees, housing, meals, books, health insurance, travel, or personal expenses. The scholarship is applied directly to student tuition in two installments each year, one in September and one in January. To be eligible, students must be enrolled in Grade 12 in a Canadian-curriculum high school in China, have an 80% or higher admission average, provide a recommendation letter from a high school counselor, principal, or teacher, and submit a 500- to 750-word essay in English explaining why they wish to study in Canada and at Saint Mary's. Students must be accepted or conditionally accepted for undergraduate degree studies before applying. Renewal requires at least a 2.5 GPA and full-time enrollment.
