Rutgers-New Brunswick International Student Scholarships are competitive merit scholarships for admitted first-year international students on valid non-immigrant visas. Rutgers-New Brunswick states that all admitted first-year international students are automatically considered for international scholarships and that no separate scholarship application is required. International students are encouraged to apply by early action or regular decision due dates, and the first-year scholarship process references December 1 for fall admission. Scholarship decisions are based on a careful and comprehensive review of the student's application, including first-choice Rutgers-New Brunswick school, academic strength and performance, and the overall competitiveness of the applicant pool. Awards range from $5,000 to $16,000 per year and are made for a total of four years of undergraduate education. The scholarship is partial funding because it does not cover the full cost of attendance, including remaining tuition, fees, housing, meals, insurance, books, travel, and personal expenses. Recipients are expected to maintain a minimum 3.25 GPA for renewal.
