Rowan University Opportunity Program

Offered by Rowan University

About this scholarship

The Rowan University Opportunity Program is a last-dollar institutional grant for eligible New Jersey undergraduates who have not yet earned 60 college credits. It fills qualifying tuition and mandatory-fee gaps after federal grants, New Jersey aid, Rowan scholarships, and other institutional funding are applied. For a student whose applicable federal adjusted gross income is $0 to $65,000, the remaining net cost of tuition and mandatory student fees is reduced to $0. For an eligible student with adjusted gross income from $65,001 to $80,000, that remaining cost is capped at $7,500 across the fall and spring semesters. There is no separate Rowan Opportunity Program application. Students first apply for undergraduate admission to Rowan and must complete the FAFSA by the New Jersey state deadline; New Jersey Dreamers and certain eligible noncitizens instead submit the New Jersey Alternative Financial Aid Application. They must also finish the state-aid process and provide every document requested by Rowan Financial Aid. Recipients enroll full time in at least 12 credits, take courses required for their declared degree, and maintain satisfactory academic progress. Funding applies only in fall and spring and cannot create a refund or credit balance. It excludes program- or course-specific charges such as engineering or nursing differential fees, health insurance, graduation charges, and designated laboratory or studio fees. Students should monitor both their HESAA account and Rowan financial-aid checklist because missing a state deadline or requested verification document can forfeit eligibility.
