About this scholarship

The Rotary Peace Fellowship, funded by The Rotary Foundation, develops the next generation of peace and development leaders by training fellows at Rotary Peace Centers hosted by premier universities around the world. Each year the Foundation awards up to 50 fellowships for master's degrees and up to 120 for professional development certificates. The fellowship is comprehensive, covering tuition and fees, room and board, round-trip transportation, and internship and field-study expenses. The master's programme lasts 15 to 24 months and includes a two-to-three-month applied field experience between the two academic years, and it requires at least three years of relevant full-time work experience. The professional development certificate is an intensive roughly three-month programme aimed at experienced professionals with at least five years of relevant work, including two to three weeks of field study. Applications open online on 1 February and close on 15 May, and require a resume, recommendations, essays and a personal-statement video, transcripts (master's), English test scores (master's, for non-native speakers), and a social-impact plan (certificate). Active Rotary members and Rotary employees are not eligible.

Eligibility

  • Have a strong commitment to peace and development
  • Have at least 3 years' relevant full-time work experience (master's) or 5 years (certificate)
  • Demonstrate proficiency in English (TOEFL/IELTS for the master's if non-native)
  • Not be an active Rotary member or an employee of a Rotary entity
  • Submit the online application (essays, video, references, transcripts) by 15 May
