Rolando Jimenez Scholarship Fund
Offered by Rolando Jimenez Memorial Foundation
About this scholarship
The Rolando Jimenez Scholarship Fund helps Dallas–Fort Worth area students continue their education after losing one or both parents to death. Awards usually range from $500 to $1,500 per approved recipient, depending on donations and the number of applications selected. Funding is intended for one semester, and recipients may apply again for assistance in a later term. Applicants must have lived in a greater DFW county before continuing their education, be either a high-school senior or a current college or trade-school student, and show a GPA of at least 3.0 on the latest report card. The sponsor begins with a direct online eligibility screen and may then request a recent report card or transcript, proof of school enrollment, college applications, and other supporting documents. The scholarship committee considers which candidates are most likely to benefit from financial help before the board gives final approval. The program uses two recurring windows: September 1 through February 28 for Fall-semester consideration and March 1 through August 31 for Spring-semester consideration. The current direct form remains open through August 31, 2026.
