Rockefeller State Wildlife Scholarship
Offered by Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance
About this scholarship
The Rockefeller State Wildlife Scholarship is a competitive Louisiana award for full-time students pursuing forestry, wildlife, or marine science at a Louisiana public college or university. For 2026–2027, the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance has extended the application deadline to August 31, 2026. Undergraduates receive $2,000 annually and graduate students receive $3,000 annually, with a cumulative maximum of $12,000 across as many as three undergraduate and two graduate years. An undergraduate applicant must have earned at least 60 college credits and hold a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher; a graduate applicant needs at least a 3.00 cumulative graduate GPA. Applicants must be Louisiana residents for at least one year before July 1 of the award year and must satisfy the federal citizenship or eligible-noncitizen and Selective Service requirements. The application is a downloadable LOSFA form that must be completed, signed, and submitted with an official college transcript. LOSFA’s standard instructions also require the FAFSA by July 1, although the scholarship application itself has the published 2026 extension; students should contact LOSFA immediately if they need clarification about FAFSA timing. Renewal requires continued full-time enrollment in an approved major, the applicable cumulative GPA, continuous enrollment unless an exception is granted, and annual completion of the required credit load. Funds are tied to completing an approved degree, so applicants should carefully read the program rules and repayment warning before accepting an award.
