Robert & Jean Walsh Math & Science Scholarship
Offered by Allegheny Kiski Health Foundation
About this scholarship
The Robert & Jean Walsh Math & Science Scholarship is a local need-based award for a graduating senior who lives within Pennsylvania’s Highlands School District. Eligible students must graduate from Highlands High School, or graduate from St. Joseph High School while also residing in the Highlands district, and enter a mathematics or science bachelor’s program at an accredited four-year college or university. The Allegheny Kiski Health Foundation’s official scholarship page hosts the live application form. After selecting the Walsh Math & Science program, an applicant supplies high-school and college details, grade-point average, test score, intended major, degree, career plans, employment, volunteer service, extracurricular activities, and honors. A narrative essay must explain the student’s interest in the selected field and the work ethic, academic commitment, character, integrity, and self-motivation that will support completion of the degree. Applicants also upload a financial-aid letter from the college showing expected family contribution, the official college acceptance letter, a high-school transcript, and the essay. The Foundation describes the award as $2,500 to $3,000 for up to two years. Renewal after the freshman year is conditional, requiring evidence of satisfactory progress plus continued attendance at the same institution in the same major. The stated annual application deadline is June 30. Because the application is embedded on the official page, students should complete every required field, upload legible documents, and save their submission confirmation.
