Robert & Jean Walsh Humanities Scholarship
Offered by Allegheny Kiski Health Foundation
About this scholarship
The Robert & Jean Walsh Humanities Scholarship supports a graduating senior from Highlands High School, or a graduating senior from St. Joseph High School who also resides within Pennsylvania’s Highlands School District. The student must have documented financial need and be entering the first term of a bachelor’s program in a humanities discipline at an accredited four-year college or university. The sponsor lists examples including art, archaeology, education, English, history, language, law, music, political science, philosophy, religion, and sociology. The official Allegheny Kiski Health Foundation page contains the application itself, rather than sending applicants to a general homepage. Applicants select the Walsh Humanities program and provide academic, college, major, career, work, volunteer, and extracurricular information. They must write a narrative explaining their interest in the field and the qualities that will help them graduate. Required uploads include the essay, a college financial-aid letter showing expected family contribution, an official acceptance letter, and a high-school transcript. The award is described as $2,500 to $3,000 over as many as two years. Second-year support requires a renewal application documenting successful completion of the freshman year and continued study at the same institution in the same major. The sponsor publishes June 30 as the annual deadline; applicants should submit through the embedded form and retain confirmation of delivery.
