Pisacano Scholars Leadership Program
Offered by Pisacano Leadership Foundation
About this scholarship
The Pisacano Scholars Leadership Program is a medical leadership scholarship for future family medicine physicians. The official Pisacano Leadership Foundation page states that third-year medical students are eligible and that only students with a strong commitment to family medicine are considered. Scholars receive annual scholarship funding of $5,000 during the final year of medical school and the first three years of family medicine training, for four years total. The Foundation also provides an additional $2,000 per year for travel to annual leadership skills development symposia, with hotel and meals covered for those events. The award is partial funding because it helps reduce medical education debt and supports leadership development, but it does not cover full tuition, fees, housing, clinical costs, exams, or personal expenses. Selection emphasizes commitment to family medicine, leadership, academic performance, clinical excellence, communication skills, and service; financial need is not considered. There is no service commitment after completion of family medicine residency.
