Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans
Offered by Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans
About this scholarship
The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans provide merit-based funding for immigrants and children of immigrants who are poised to make significant contributions to US society, culture, and academia. Each year 30 fellows are selected, and each receives up to US$90,000 in financial support over two years — covering tuition support and a stipend — toward a full-time graduate or professional degree at a US institution, plus membership in a lifelong community of New American fellows. The fellowship is open across all fields and degree types, including master's, PhD, MD, JD, MBA, and MFA programmes, and even online US programmes qualify. To be eligible, you must be 30 or younger as of the deadline; be an immigrant or the child of immigrants (as an immigrant, you should be a naturalised US citizen, green-card holder, asylee or refugee, or have graduated from both high school and college in the US); and be planning full-time enrolment in a US degree-granting graduate or professional programme. If you are already in graduate school, you must not have started the third year of the degree you are seeking funding for. The application requires transcripts, a resume, two essays, and three to five recommendations, with a firm late-October deadline.
