About this scholarship

The P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship (IPS) Fund provides scholarships to international women pursuing graduate study in the United States or Canada, with the aim of fostering global peace through education. The maximum award is $12,500, and the scholarship is need-based, so lesser amounts may be awarded according to individual circumstances; it is intended as a contribution toward, not full coverage of, academic and personal expenses, and applicants must show they have additional resources adequate to meet their estimated costs. To be eligible, you must be a woman from outside the United States and Canada seeking an advanced (graduate) degree at an accredited college or university, be enrolled and in residence in the U.S. or Canada for the entire school year, and have a full year of formal coursework remaining; you must also intend to return to your home country to use your education to make a positive impact and foster peace. Citizens or permanent residents of the U.S. or Canada are not eligible, and scholarships are not awarded for online courses, research, internships, or practical training unless combined with formal coursework. The eligibility period runs from September 15 to December 15, with awards announced in May.
