About this scholarship

The Orange Tulip Scholarship (OTS) is a programme managed by Nuffic's Neso (Netherlands Education Support Office) network to connect talented students from specific partner countries with Dutch higher-education institutions. It is offered country by country: each Nuffic Neso office (in countries such as Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Vietnam, South Africa, and others) curates its own selection of participating Dutch universities, eligible programmes, and award values. The scholarship mainly covers a portion of tuition fees — depending on the university and sponsor this can be 25%, 50%, or up to 100% of tuition — and notably does not include allowances for living expenses, travel, insurance, or visa costs, so recipients must fund those themselves. To apply, you first choose a programme and apply for admission to a participating Dutch institution, confirm your country's eligibility on your local Nuffic Neso website, and then submit the OTS application through the route specified by that Neso office or the university. Deadlines vary widely by country and institution, with most falling between February and May, so applicants should always check the specific Neso office and programme rather than relying on a generic date.
