Ontario Tech University International Merit Awards
Offered by Ontario Tech University
About this scholarship
Ontario Tech University International Merit Awards are renewable undergraduate entrance awards for international secondary-school students. The official scholarships page states that international secondary-school students entering an undergraduate program at Ontario Tech on a study permit may be eligible for International Merit Awards. The awards are valued at CAD $20,000 over four years, paid as CAD $5,000 per year, and are awarded to applicants with a grade point average of 80% or greater as calculated at the time of admission. Successful applicants are notified with an offer of scholarship from the university. The award is partial funding because CAD $5,000 per year does not cover full tuition, fees, housing, meals, health insurance, books, travel, and personal expenses. Ontario Tech's general scholarship conditions apply: entrance scholarships are for students attending university from secondary school within 18 months of graduation, students must not previously have attended a post-secondary institution, students may not hold more than one scholarship at the same time, and recipients must enroll in at least an 80% course load per term. Continuation of funding depends on good academic standing and availability of funds.
