NROTC Navy Nurse Program Option Scholarship

Offered by U.S. Navy Naval Service Training Command

About this scholarship

The NROTC Navy Nurse Program Option provides the national NROTC scholarship package to students earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at a participating Nurse Option institution. Recipients may take full tuition and select fees or up to $11,500 per year for room and board. The package also includes uniforms, Naval Science textbooks, a $750 annual textbook allowance, and monthly subsistence that rises from $250 during freshman year to $400 during senior year. Nurse-option midshipmen complete regular physical training, Naval Science coursework, and leadership laboratories alongside their nursing degree. During two summers, they receive hands-on experience at a Navy hospital and aboard a Navy ship. Because tuition and room-and-board coverage are alternatives rather than a complete combined package, this record is classified as partial funding. Applicants meet the national scholarship’s citizenship, age, academic-testing, fitness, medical, and moral requirements and must be admitted to a university that specifically offers the Nurse Option. They must complete the BSN and required naval courses, commission as Navy Nurse Corps ensigns, and serve at least four years on active duty. The online application is open, but the official 2027 closing date remains TBA.
