NEPPA Student Scholarship Program
Offered by Northeast Public Power Association
About this scholarship
The Northeast Public Power Association Student Scholarship Program offers three $500 awards for students connected to a NEPPA member utility and preparing for careers relevant to public power. The 2027 program has separate categories for graduating high-school seniors entering college or trade school, students currently enrolled at a college or university, and current vocational or technical students applying for the Michael Rampanelli Trade School Student Scholarship. Applicants may qualify either by living in an area served by a NEPPA member utility or by being related to an employee of a member utility. Eligible study and career areas are deliberately broad because public utilities employ many specialties; examples on the official page include electrical work, engineering, renewable energy, information technology, environmental health and safety, finance, customer service, business management, regulatory compliance, operations, maintenance, and construction. Applicants must complete the sponsor's online form by April 2, 2027, and winners are scheduled to be announced in May 2027. Students can use NEPPA's linked member directory to confirm the utility connection before applying. The program focuses on a credible pathway into electric-utility employment rather than limiting applicants to a single major.
