Nebraska Trucking Foundation Diesel Technology Training Scholarship

Offered by Nebraska Trucking Foundation

About this scholarship

The Nebraska Trucking Foundation Diesel Technology Training Scholarship provides up to $3,000 for adults preparing to maintain and repair commercial trucks. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and awards are made monthly, allowing support to follow the schedules of participating diesel-technology programs. Funding spans a two-year program: an approved student can receive a first installment of up to $1,500 in the first year and a second installment after the school verifies second-year enrollment. Payments go directly to the school and are generally issued within eight to ten weeks after approval. Applicants must enroll in an eligible diesel technology program at a Nebraska community college or Iowa Western Community College, then have a school official email enrollment documentation to the Foundation. The live application also requires a 100–200 word essay explaining how the applicant will use diesel technology in a future career and how the trucking industry fits that plan. Proof received after the 28th of the application month may delay processing by 30 days. The program is open to applicants age 18 or older and is specifically designed as career-training support rather than a traditional once-a-year academic scholarship.
