Nebraska Trucking Foundation CDL Training Scholarship
Offered by Nebraska Trucking Foundation
About this scholarship
The Nebraska Trucking Foundation CDL Training Scholarship helps adults complete commercial driver training at participating community colleges serving Nebraska students. The program is continuously available and applications are reviewed each month so that funding can align with short CDL course schedules. Each approved applicant may receive up to $1,500, with the scholarship sent directly to the school within approximately eight to ten weeks. Applicants must first enroll in an eligible truck-driver training program and ask a school official to email enrollment verification to the Foundation. The official application collects contact and school information and requires a 100–200 word essay explaining how the applicant plans to use a commercial driver's license and how trucking fits those career plans. Enrollment proof should arrive before the 28th of the application month; documents received later may delay review by 30 days. The Foundation describes the opportunity as open to people age 18 or older enrolled at a Nebraska community college, including Iowa Western Community College. Because awards are considered monthly rather than in a single annual competition, qualified students can apply after they enroll instead of waiting for a fixed scholarship season.
