MTSU International Merit Scholarship

The MTSU International Merit Scholarship is an automatic undergraduate scholarship for first-year and transfer international students at Middle Tennessee State University. MTSU states that all first-year or transfer students attending on an F-1 visa who receive final acceptance or full admission are considered for the award. Complete files are automatically reviewed, so no separate scholarship application is required. The scholarship is entirely GPA based, with annual award levels of $6,000 for a 3.25 to 3.49 GPA, $12,000 for a 3.5 to 3.74 GPA, and $16,000 for a 3.75 to 4.0 GPA. The award is partial funding because it reduces tuition and education costs but does not cover full tuition, fees, housing, meals, health insurance, books, travel, or personal expenses. MTSU awards scholarships on a first-come, first-served basis until funding is exhausted. The priority deadline is June 1 for fall entry and October 1 for spring entry. Renewal requires a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, and students should apply early because immigration and scholarship processing take time.

Eligibility

• Apply as an international first-year or transfer student to Middle Tennessee State University
• Attend or plan to attend on an F-1 visa
• Receive final acceptance or full admission to the university
• Submit a complete admission file for automatic scholarship consideration
• Have at least a 3.25 GPA for the lowest scholarship tier
• No separate International Merit Scholarship application is required
• Maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA for annual renewal
