About this scholarship

The Montana State University International Undergraduate Merit-Based Scholarship is an automatic tuition scholarship offered by the Office of International Programs to qualified international undergraduate applicants who receive full admission to MSU. The award is based on grade point average only. International first-year students with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale may be considered for awards ranging from $5,000 to $12,000 per year. International transfer students with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher may be considered for $7,000 per academic year in tuition aid. The scholarship can be applied only toward Montana State tuition and is partial funding because it does not cover all tuition, mandatory fees, housing, meals, health insurance, travel, books, and personal expenses. Students are considered after submitting the international undergraduate application and receiving full admission; conditional admission for intensive English study does not qualify at the initial stage. Awards may be renewed annually if the recipient maintains a 3.0 GPA, full-time student status, and non-resident tuition status. Early completion is important because scholarship consideration is made in admission order.
