Monash University International Merit Scholarship

About this scholarship

The Monash International Merit Scholarship rewards high-achieving international students undertaking undergraduate study at Monash University, one of Australia's Group of Eight research universities. For scholarships awarded from 2026 it is worth A$15,000 per year (per 48 credit points of study), paid each year until the student completes the minimum number of points required for their degree — a significant multi-year contribution toward tuition, though it is a partial award rather than a full ride, so recipients budget for the remaining tuition and living costs. A major convenience is that there is no separate application: international students who have received an undergraduate course offer from Monash are automatically considered. To keep the scholarship, recipients must maintain a distinction average (70% or above) each semester, and they are required to provide a student profile that Monash may use in marketing, recruitment, and promotional materials or events. Recipients also receive an invitation to apply for Monash Minds, a leadership program for first-year students, and may defer the scholarship within the same calendar year.
