About this scholarship

Mississippi State Annual Freshman Academic Scholarships for International Students are automatic merit awards for first-time international freshmen. Mississippi State's official international residents scholarship insert states that awards are automatically made upon MSU admission based on 9th- through 11th-grade high school GPA and test scores. Published annual scholarship levels for international residents range from $12,000 for students with a 3.30 to 3.59 GPA to $22,000 for students with a 4.10 or higher GPA and a 31 ACT superscore or equivalent SAT score. The award is partial funding because it reduces tuition and educational costs but does not cover full tuition, nonresident fees, housing, meal plan, required medical insurance, testing, international fees, travel, books, or personal expenses. The scholarship is renewable annually for up to eight semesters based on overall MSU GPA and continuous full-time enrollment. International students with active agent contracts are ineligible for scholarship consideration. Students applying for scholarships must submit official ACT or SAT scores when required, plus international admission and English-proficiency documents.
