Microsoft Cybersecurity Scholarship Program
Offered by Last Mile Education Fund and Microsoft
About this scholarship
The Microsoft Cybersecurity Scholarship Program, powered by Last Mile Education Fund, gives rapid financial support to community- and technical-college students preparing for cybersecurity and related technology careers. Eligible students may request up to $500 for a short-term basic need—such as food, rent, health costs, transportation, or a laptop—or receive a subsidy of up to $375 for a cybersecurity certification exam. The program also provides access to professional resources including LinkedIn Premium, GitHub Global Campus, and the Global Mentors Initiative. It is open across academic classifications to students enrolled at a U.S. community or technical college in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, data systems, or another closely related technology program. Applied bachelor's programs qualify when offered by a community or technical college. Dual-enrolled high-school students can be considered, but every applicant must be at least 18. Students upload a current transcript showing their identity, institution, term, and program; bootcamp or certification students instead provide a recent enrollment agreement. A LinkedIn profile with a photograph is also required. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis through Last Mile's common Caravan portal, where one submission is matched to all compatible partner funds.
