Mexican Government Excellence Scholarships (AMEXCID)
Offered by AMEXCID — Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (SRE)
About this scholarship
The Mexican Government Excellence Scholarships, administered by the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID) within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE), invite international students from more than 180 countries to study or carry out research at over 70 participating Mexican higher-education institutions, at specialisation, master's, doctoral, and research levels. The scholarship covers enrolment and tuition fees, a monthly living stipend, medical insurance through the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) — which begins from the seventh month in Mexico — exemption from visa costs, economy-class international airfare upon successful completion of the scholarship, and national transport from Mexico City to the host city and back. Applicants need a strong academic record (a minimum GPA of 85/100 or equivalent) and an acceptance or invitation letter from a participating institution issued within the last 60 days. Applications are submitted electronically through the Academic Management System (SIGCA) when the call opens, and must be completed in Spanish, with an annual deadline typically in mid-to-late July.
