The Memorial University of Newfoundland International Entrance Scholarship is an undergraduate entrance award created from a portion of international undergraduate tuition fees. Memorial states that the values vary but do not exceed CAD $6,000 each annually. The scholarship is intended for new international undergraduates and is awarded by the Senate Committee on Undergraduate Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards. Memorial's international entrance scholarship page explains that international students are considered upon admission as funding allows, and that no additional application is necessary when the student meets the criteria. It is first-year, non-renewable support and is partial funding because it does not cover full tuition, fees, housing, food, health insurance, travel, books, or personal expenses. To be considered, students must be eligible to pay the full international undergraduate fee, normally have fewer than 31 credit hours of transfer credit, register for at least 9 credit hours in each of two semesters in the first academic year, and meet scholarship standing comparable to that required for Newfoundland and Labrador and Canadian applicants. Students are notified if they are successful in receiving an entrance scholarship.

Eligibility

• Be a new international undergraduate student at Memorial University of Newfoundland
• Be eligible to pay the full international undergraduate fee
• Normally have fewer than 31 credit hours of transfer credits
• Register for at least 9 credit hours in each of two semesters in the first academic year
• Meet scholarship standing comparable to Memorial requirements for Canadian entrance applicants
• No additional application is required for automatic consideration as funding allows
• The award is first-year and non-renewable
