About this scholarship

The Minority Corporate Counsel Association LMJ Scholars Program combines first-year law-school funding with mentorship, professional development, and a long-term alumni network. MCCA’s official programs page confirms that the 2026 application is open through August 21, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time and links directly to the ISTS application portal. The current award is $10,000 for the first year of law school. The program is designed for incoming full-time J.D. students accepted at an ABA-accredited U.S. law school who have strong academic preparation, financial need, leadership and community-service experience, and a demonstrated interest in corporate law and in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the legal profession. Applicants should be prepared to document an undergraduate cumulative GPA of at least 3.2 and their law-school acceptance. The application also calls for financial-aid documentation, academic records, and written materials describing the applicant’s interests and record of service. LLM, part-time, and dual-degree students are not eligible under the published program rules. Applicants create or use an ISTS account at the direct application link and must complete every required item before the Pacific-time deadline.

Eligibility

• Be accepted for fall 2026 into a full-time Juris Doctor program at an ABA-accredited law school in the United States
• Have an undergraduate cumulative GPA of at least 3.2
• Demonstrate financial need and provide the required FAFSA or applicable DACA documentation
• Show interest in corporate law, including work in a corporate legal department or law firm
• Demonstrate commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the legal profession
• Show community service and leadership qualities
• Submit all required academic, financial, and written materials through the ISTS portal by August 21, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time
• Not be an LLM, part-time, or dual-degree student
