Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation Career & Technical Education Scholarship

Offered by Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation

About this scholarship

The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation Career & Technical Education Scholarship provides need-based support for children of Marines and certain Navy personnel who are pursuing nondegree career training. Eligible programs may be any length and include fields such as HVAC, plumbing, cosmetology, agriculture, construction, audiovisual technology, education, hospitality, and other vocational areas. The school or program must be eligible for federal funding and appear in the U.S. Department of Education's College Navigator. Awards are made at one of four levels—$2,500, $5,000, $7,500, or $10,000 for the academic year—based on financial need, GPA, and available funding. Funds can cover costs of attendance defined by the school, including tuition, fees, books, supplies, room and board, and transportation. The CTE application is available throughout the year and is reviewed monthly; the Foundation recommends applying about two months before training begins. Applicants upload a qualifying transcript, the required federal tax return or nonfiling verification, documentation of the military parent's service, and a suitable photograph. Students in degree-granting programs should use the separate undergraduate application, which is not open year-round.
