MALDEF Law School Scholarship Program
Offered by Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund
About this scholarship
The MALDEF Law School Scholarship Program supports law students whose academic and career goals align with MALDEF's mission of advancing the civil rights of the Latino community in the United States. The official MALDEF scholarship resources page states that in recent years MALDEF has awarded five to 15 scholarships of $2,000 to $10,000 each to law students from throughout the nation. The award is partial funding because it is a fixed law-school scholarship and does not cover full tuition, fees, housing, bar preparation, books, travel, insurance, or personal expenses. MALDEF states that the program is open to all law students currently enrolled full time at an accredited United States law school. Applicants are evaluated for academic and extracurricular achievements, background and financial need, and, most importantly, demonstrated commitment to advancing Latino civil rights in their careers. The official page links the 2026-2027 application packet, so the page itself is used as the application route.
