About this scholarship

The Lund University Global Scholarship is a merit-based award for talented fee-paying international students at Lund University, one of Sweden's oldest and top-ranked universities, which awards roughly SEK 20.5 million in scholarship grants each year. The scholarship covers tuition fees only — partially or, in some cases, fully — and does not include living costs, so recipients must still meet the Swedish Migration Agency's requirements by funding their own living expenses; the scholarship amount is deducted automatically from the Lund tuition-fee invoice. To be eligible you must be a citizen of a country outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland who is required to pay tuition fees, and you must be applying in a regular application round to a master's-level degree programme at Lund (or, exceptionally, to one of a few designated bachelor's programmes in Development Studies, Mathematics, Physics, and Physical Geography). The award is highly selective and based entirely on merit. The process has two steps: first apply to a Lund degree programme through Sweden's national admissions website universityadmissions.se during the application period and pay the application fee; then, once your application is complete, apply for the scholarship through the dedicated scholarship application portal.

Eligibility

  • Be a citizen of a country outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland, required to pay tuition
  • Apply in a regular application round to a Lund master's (or a designated bachelor's) programme
  • First apply via universityadmissions.se and pay the application fee
  • Then apply through the Lund scholarship application portal
  • Be selected on academic merit (the award is highly competitive)

Always verify amounts and deadlines on the official site; they change each cycle.
