Loyola University Chicago Rule of Law Scholarship

Offered by Loyola University Chicago School of Law

About this scholarship

The Rule of Law Scholarship provides tuition support for exceptionally qualified applicants to Loyola University Chicago's Rule of Law for Development program, known as PROLAW. It is available to applicants of any nationality pursuing the LLM or MJ degree who demonstrate strong academic and professional merit as well as financial need. Scholarship consideration comes after admission: an applicant must first complete the PROLAW admission process and then submit the separate scholarship form using the application reference number. The form asks for concise statements, limited to 300 words each, explaining the applicant's rule-of-law merit and unique financial circumstances. Applicants can upload supporting documents and must disclose other external funding applications; Loyola says a demonstrated effort to seek outside support is valued by the committee. The official annual window runs from November 1 through July 31. Loyola describes the awards as tuition assistance and does not promise that every recipient receives full tuition. It also explicitly excludes visa, travel, lodging, and living expenses in Rome, so students must budget separately for those costs. Early admission gives the scholarship committee more time to review a complete file.
