Long Island Flower Growers Association Scholarship

Offered by American Floral Endowment and Long Island Flower Growers Association

About this scholarship

The Long Island Flower Growers Association Scholarship is administered through the American Floral Endowment for students in the Long Island or wider New York area studying ornamental horticulture. Qualifying programs may be at a community college or four-year institution and can focus on floriculture, landscape and nursery work, or another ornamental-horticulture pathway. AFE's common scholarship program is designed for sophomore through graduate-level college students pursuing floriculture or horticulture careers. Applicants must generally be U.S. or Canadian citizens or residents, or attend an accredited institution in either country, and hold at least a 2.0 GPA. One online application can be used to select up to six compatible AFE scholarships. Required materials include a résumé, the most recent transcript, and two recommendation letters, preferably one from a teacher and one from an employer. AFE awards across the program range from $500 to $5,000, but the exact LIFGA amount depends on annual fund income and selection. The official page states that applications will reopen in 2027 and that all components are due May 1 each year.
