Lois Parker Foundation Education Scholarship

Offered by The Lois Parker Foundation

About this scholarship

The Lois Parker Foundation Education Scholarship provides up to $2,000 for accredited education or certification connected to information technology, medical careers, first response, or emergency management. It is designed for underprivileged applicants, U.S. military veterans, and rural government employees. Eligible study can take place at an accredited university, junior college, trade school, professional training program, or certification course. Applications are accepted throughout the year and reviewed on a rolling basis; the foundation says a decision can take up to two months because of application volume. Applicants download the official form and mail a complete packet to the foundation. Every packet must include an enrollment verification letter, a state driver’s license or identification copy, and an original essay of at least 300 words concerning one of the supported career areas. Veterans add a DD Form 214, underprivileged applicants add tax documentation showing income under the foundation’s stated guideline, and rural government employees add proof of qualifying public employment. Funding is limited and the requested amount is not guaranteed. Recipients must successfully complete the approved program or may be required to reimburse the award under the application terms.
