Lenoir-Rhyne Friends in Faith Scholarship

Offered by Lenoir-Rhyne University

About this scholarship

Lenoir-Rhyne University's Friends in Faith Scholarship is a church-matching program for undergraduate students connected to a Lutheran congregation. When the student's Lutheran church provides scholarship support, the university matches that contribution dollar for dollar up to $500 per year. The university match can continue for a maximum of four years, making the combined church-and-university assistance worth as much as $1,000 annually when the congregation contributes the full matchable amount. The live online form accepts requests for both new and returning Lenoir-Rhyne students. It asks for the student's university email, congregation name, the amount the church will contribute, and contact details for the pastor and church. Because Lenoir-Rhyne does not publish a separate deadline on the form, students and congregations should submit the request as early as possible and confirm the processing timetable with the university's Financial Aid office. This scholarship is separate from the Martin Luther Fellow program, even though Scholarships.com groups both under a single Lutheran-scholarships listing.
