LeCoMASE Medical Student Scholarship

Offered by Lehigh County Medical Auxiliary Scholarship and Educational Fund and The Foundation of the Pennsylvania Medical Society

About this scholarship

The LeCoMASE Medical Student Scholarship offers two awards of $3,500 each for the 2026-2027 academic year. The Lehigh County Medical Auxiliary’s Scholarship and Educational Fund supports the program, and The Foundation of the Pennsylvania Medical Society administers it. Applicants must be U.S. citizens who lived in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, for at least 12 months before registering as medical students. Time spent in the county or state solely for undergraduate or graduate education does not count toward the required residency period. Students may attend any fully accredited U.S. medical school, but enrollment must be full time. The award-specific online solicitation requires a completed application, two letters from references who are not family members, a medical-school enrollment-verification letter on official letterhead, and an essay within the application. At least one recommendation must come from a medical-school professor or physician, and the letters should address integrity, interpersonal skills, and potential as a future physician. The essay, limited to 750 words, asks candidates to describe their goals and expectations in medicine. The application opened July 1 and must be submitted by September 30, 2026. The committee expects to notify applicants in November.
