About this scholarship
The KNB Scholarship (Kemitraan Negara Berkembang, or Developing Countries Partnership) is the Indonesian government's scholarship for students from developing countries to pursue bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees at Indonesian universities. It is fully funded, covering tuition, a monthly living allowance, a research and book allowance, health insurance, round-trip economy airfare with local transport to the host university, and funding to publish one scientific article (for master's and doctoral scholars). The programme is offered across 47 partner universities and more than 1,000 academic programmes spanning diverse fields. To apply, candidates first download the KNB offering letter and obtain an official letter of recommendation from the Indonesian Embassy in their country, then submit the full application through the official KNB online platform. Eligibility is limited to citizens of developing countries within the age limits (under 21 for bachelor's, under 35 for master's, under 40 for doctoral) who can demonstrate English proficiency; the annual application window typically runs from February to the end of March.
