Khalifa University, a leading research university in Abu Dhabi focused on science, engineering, and medicine, offers generous scholarships to international graduate students, assessed automatically as part of the admission process — there is no separate scholarship application. For PhD students the package is comprehensive: full coverage of tuition fees and a basic monthly stipend of AED 20,000 for international students (AED 25,000 for UAE nationals), plus health insurance, free university accommodation for eligible students, mobilization/demobilization flights for overseas students, UAE visa fees, and textbooks. For master's students, the scholarship may waive up to 100% of tuition; master's students do not receive a monthly stipend but can earn compensation through teaching or other university services. Admission (and thus scholarship eligibility) requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum CGPA of 3.0/4.0 (3.5 for direct entry to a PhD) from a reputable institution, plus English proficiency (TOEFL iBT 91 or equivalent). Scholarship slots are limited and applicants are mapped to a specific tier based on academic merit and research potential, so meeting the minimum criteria does not guarantee an award.
