Karsh International Scholarship
Offered by Duke University
About this scholarship
The Karsh International Scholarship is Duke University's dedicated merit-and-need scholarship for international undergraduates with outstanding potential for academic and global impact. Duke states that international applicants must have demonstrated financial need to be eligible and that there is no separate Karsh application: students simply apply to Duke University and request financial aid. The scholarship is comprehensive. It covers tuition, room and board, mandatory fees, demonstrated need that exceeds those costs, and three summers of funding for research, unpaid internships, and other opportunities that advance the student's academic career. Karsh Scholars form an intellectually and civically engaged cohort of international students who promote interdisciplinary inquiry, academic research, and scholarship in service of society. Eligibility excludes students with dual U.S. and other-country citizenship and students who already hold a B.A. or B.S. degree. The strongest candidates combine rigorous academic preparation with documented financial need and a record suggesting they will contribute to Duke's international community. Because Duke selects through the admission and financial-aid process, students should follow Duke's current application and aid deadlines carefully.
