Kanders Churchill Scholarship in Science Policy

Offered by Winston Churchill Foundation of the United States

About this scholarship

The Kanders Churchill Scholarship in Science Policy funds U.S. STEM graduates for the University of Cambridge Master of Public Policy. It is distinct from the main Churchill Scholarship: applicants may have graduated from any U.S. college or university, there is no time limit since graduation, and candidates apply through Cambridge rather than through a participating institution’s nomination process. Up to two awards are available each year, subject to funding. The scholarship follows the Churchill package, covering Cambridge tuition, round-trip airfare to the United Kingdom, visa and immigration health-surcharge fees, and a living stipend; the Foundation values its one-year awards above $80,000. Applicants need a bachelor’s degree with a major or minor concentration in science, mathematics, or engineering and must remain U.S. citizens. They apply directly to Cambridge’s Master of Public Policy, state their interest in the Kanders award in the Statement of Interest, and name Churchill College as their first college choice. Selection weighs academic STEM achievement and preparation for public-policy study. The next deadline will coincide with the 2027–28 Gates Cambridge deadline, which the Foundation had not yet announced when this record was verified.
