KAIST International Student Scholarship (Korea)
Offered by Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST)
About this scholarship
KAIST, South Korea's top science and technology research university, provides exceptionally strong funding for international students. Every admitted international undergraduate receives a full scholarship — full tuition, a monthly allowance of around US$300, and National Health Insurance — conditional on maintaining good grades. For graduate students, several options exist: the KAIST Scholarship provides a full tuition grant (for example, four semesters for a master's or ten semesters for an integrated master's-PhD), awarded on academic merit and promise; the Mobility AX Global Expert Program (G-MAX) is more comprehensive, adding monthly living stipends, National Health Insurance, dormitory fees, round-trip airfare, and support for academic activities on top of full tuition; and international students may also pursue the Korean Government (GKS) route. Instruction is available in English, and programmes focus on engineering, the natural sciences, computing, and business. Admission through KAIST's international cycles is open only to applicants who do not hold Korean citizenship. Applicants apply via KAIST's online admissions system for the relevant intake (Spring or Fall), where scholarship consideration is built into the process.
