Joy Cappel Innovation Scholarship

Offered by Rockland Immunochemicals

About this scholarship

Rockland Immunochemicals offers the Joy Cappel Innovation Scholarship to help students bring curiosity and creative scientific thinking into life-science education. Two students receive $2,500 each year through spring and fall award rounds. Eligible applicants may be high school seniors, undergraduates, or graduate students, but they must already be accepted to or enrolled at a U.S. college or university for the upcoming term and plan to study life sciences or a closely related field. The current sponsor-hosted application is embedded directly on Rockland’s scholarship page, so applicants do not need to register with a third-party scholarship directory. The central application requirement is a publicly viewable or link-accessible video lasting two to four minutes. For the current prompt, applicants explain what they consider the most surprising and impactful scientific finding from the last five years and how it could transform understanding of the natural world. The video may be hosted on YouTube, Google Drive, iCloud, or a similar service, but its sharing settings must allow the review committee to open it. The form also asks for the applicant’s name, email, university, state, intended degree, and degree concentration. Rockland publishes a January 20 deadline for the spring semester and a July 20 deadline for the fall semester; the next actionable round is the January 20, 2027 spring award.
