Joanne Wood Scholarship
Offered by Joanne Wood Scholarship Fund
About this scholarship
The Joanne Wood Scholarship Fund offers two $5,000 tuition scholarships each year to exceptional graduate students with financial need in selected business, mathematics, and science programs. Eligible fields identified by the sponsor include an MBA, computer science, mathematics, biology, physics, and chemistry. Applicants must be U.S. citizens residing in the United States, enrolled full time or accepted into an accredited master’s or graduate program, and have earned at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA in their undergraduate work. The sponsor hosts a complete eight-page application as a direct PDF. A finished packet includes the signed form, a personal essay of no more than 500 words describing educational intentions and career plans, two recommendations from adults who are not family members, college and any available graduate transcripts, a resume or work history, a copy of the FAFSA, and proof of graduate-program acceptance or enrollment. Applications are mailed to the Fund’s Lincoln, Massachusetts address. The $5,000 award is paid directly to the institution for tuition, normally in fall and spring installments; maintaining at least a 3.25 GPA is required for the second installment. The public application does not state a closing date or award year, so applicants should email the Fund to confirm the current review timetable before mailing sensitive documents.
