Jewish Fund for the Future Scholarship Fund

Offered by Jewish Federation of Delaware

About this scholarship

The Jewish Federation of Delaware’s Jewish Fund for the Future Scholarship Fund supports post-college study leading toward Jewish communal service, Jewish education, Jewish studies, rabbinical degrees, or cantorial degrees. The sponsor’s current shared JFF application is a fillable eight-page form used for this scholarship and several other named funds; applicants must check the specific fund for which they want consideration. Awards generally range from $250 to $1,000 and support one academic or program year. The selection committee considers connection to Delaware or surrounding communities, academic accomplishments, leadership, creativity, Jewish values expressed through volunteerism and service, financial need, obstacles overcome, and other special circumstances. The form requests student and program information, current school and GPA, intended major and career, program costs, other aid requested or received, three years of service, extracurricular, leadership, work, honors, a personal statement, and two recommendation letters. One recommendation should come from a teacher, counselor, or employer; the other must be a personal reference who is not a family member. Applicants should attach an acceptance letter when available, sign the application, and email it and all supporting material to the Federation address shown on the official page. There is no single annual closing date: applications should arrive at least 120 days before the proposed program begins.
