IGBO Presidential Scholarship
Offered by International Gay Bowling Organization
About this scholarship
The International Gay Bowling Organization Presidential Scholarship is a one-time $1,000 award for an LGBTQIA+ student who combines continued education with meaningful participation in bowling and the LGBTQIA+ community. It is open to undergraduate, graduate, and trade-school students attending accredited institutions in the United States. Applicants need at least a 3.0 GPA and must document bowling activity through a collegiate team, league, or tournament. The current sponsor page links directly to the official Fillout application. Candidates respond to the program prompt with either a 250-300 word essay or a short video of no more than two minutes, upload an unofficial academic transcript, and provide bowling league sheets or competition results. A mentor, coach, teacher, or teammate must also supply a recommendation letter. The scholarship reflects IGBO's goal of supporting younger LGBTQIA+ bowlers who will strengthen both the sport and the community. One recipient receives funds directly rather than through a college. IGBO uses an annual June 30 deadline and distributes the award by July 31, so the next deadline after the completed 2026 cycle is June 30, 2027. Applicants should use the sponsor-controlled form rather than submitting materials to a commercial directory.
