ICAFS Student Training Opportunity and Project (TOP) Grant
Offered by Idaho Chapter of the American Fisheries Society
About this scholarship
The Idaho Chapter of the American Fisheries Society Training Opportunity and Project Grant provides $50 to $1,000 to help Idaho students develop as fish and aquatic professionals. Unlike the chapter's fixed-deadline scholarships, TOP applications are accepted throughout the year. High school and college students enrolled at any school in Idaho may request support for an activity consistent with the chapter's mission. Examples named by the sponsor include conducting research, implementing an education project, attending a professional conference, participating in a workshop or training program, or proposing another fisheries- or aquatic-resources activity. The chapter first awarded the grant in 2007 and continues to fund it directly. Applicants should read the official overview and instructions, then complete the sponsor's dedicated Google Form. A separate online reference questionnaire is also available from the official page, so candidates should allow time for their reference to respond. Because awards can range from a small reimbursement to $1,000, the proposal should clearly explain the activity, its professional or educational value, and how the requested funds will be used. The rolling format makes this especially useful when a research, training, or conference opportunity does not align with a conventional spring scholarship deadline.
