About this scholarship
The Hopi Standardized Test Fee Award pays the actual cost of an eligible school-entry, academic, vocational, or professional-certification examination, up to $500. Covered examples include the GED, ACT, SAT, GRE, MAT, PPST, LSAT, teacher-proficiency testing, a state bar examination, CPA testing, commercial driver’s license certification, CPR or first-aid certification, transportation credentials, and radiography examinations. The program is open year-round while funds remain available and is limited to one award per recipient per year. Applicants must be enrolled Hopi Tribe members in good standing with the Grants and Scholarships Program and must use the direct official PDF. A complete request includes the application, Hopi enrollment verification, a copy of the test registration, and supporting information showing the examination date, administering organization, and fee. HTGSP will not reimburse a completed or already-in-progress test, cover late-registration charges, or fund a repeat examination. Materials are due at least 30 days before the test. Recipients must take the funded exam and submit the results within 30 days after receiving them or risk repayment and loss of future eligibility.
Eligibility
- Be an enrolled member of the Hopi Tribe
- Not be under suspension from the Hopi Tribe Grants and Scholarships Program
- Register for an eligible academic, admissions, vocational, or professional-certification examination
- Submit the completed application, Hopi enrollment verification, test registration, and supporting fee information
- Apply at least 30 days before the examination and before the test is taken
- Request no more than one test-fee award during the year and do not seek funding for a repeat exam
- Take the funded examination and provide the results within 30 days after receiving them
