About this scholarship
The Hope For The Warriors Restoring Hope Scholarship provides education support to eligible post-9/11 military spouses and caregivers studying social work, psychology, counseling, or a related mental-health discipline at the graduate level. It is the field-specific track within the organization’s five Military Spouse & Caregiver Scholarships. Funding goes directly to an accredited U.S. college or university for tuition, books, and required supplies. Hope For The Warriors’ intake team confirms whether the applicant is the spouse or caregiver of a post-9/11 service member or veteran with a combat-related injury and/or a 100% permanent and total VA disability rating, including Individual Unemployability. Eligible applicants can then request an invitation to the Restoring Hope application. The sponsor defines combat-related injuries as those connected with armed conflict, hazardous duty, an instrumentality of war, or simulated-war environments. Selection is handled through the invited application rather than an automatic enrollment process. The Spring cycle currently runs from August 1 to September 30, 2026, but scholarship referrals close three business days before that final date. Applicants should complete intake early enough for the eligibility review and invitation step.
Eligibility
- Be the spouse or caregiver of a post-9/11 service member or veteran
- Have a qualifying family circumstance involving a combat-related injury and/or a 100% permanent and total VA disability rating, including Individual Unemployability
- Pursue a graduate program in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related mental-health field
- Attend an accredited U.S. college or university
- Complete the secure Hope For The Warriors Connect to Services intake
- Receive and complete the invited scholarship application before the current-cycle deadline
