About this scholarship

The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) is the largest provider of college scholarships to Hispanic and Latino students in the United States, awarding more than $30 million each year through its HSF Scholar Program, alongside extensive support such as mentorship, career services, and leadership programs. Individual awards range from $500 to $5,000, determined by relative financial need. The program is open to students of all races who identify as being of Hispanic heritage — you must be at least one-quarter Hispanic/Latino (with at least one grandparent of Hispanic origin from one of the listed Spanish- or Portuguese-heritage countries). Academic requirements are a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale for high-school students and a minimum 2.5 GPA for college and graduate students. Applicants must plan to enroll full time in an accredited, public or not-for-profit four-year university or graduate school in the U.S., and must complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The HSF Scholar application opens on January 1 and closes February 15 each year; becoming an HSF Scholar also unlocks the Foundation's broader wraparound support.
