Hard Head Veterans Skilled Trades Scholarship

Offered by Hard Head Veterans

About this scholarship

The Hard Head Veterans Skilled Trades Scholarship awards $1,000 to an individual pursuing a qualified trade program and adds a high-quality hard hat after the recipient successfully completes training. It is designed for future electricians, welders, carpenters, and people entering comparable hands-on occupations. The program is separate from the sponsor’s law-enforcement scholarship and has its own direct Word application, so trade applicants do not need to interpret a combined form. A candidate must provide a program acceptance letter, write a 500-word essay describing career goals and how those goals will contribute to the community, and include one recommendation letter. The official page does not limit the opportunity to a named college or a single trade, but the training program must be qualified and the proposed occupation must be a skilled trade. Applications are accepted for two annual cycles, with deadlines on March 31 and October 1. For the upcoming cycle, applicants should download and complete the skilled-trades form, assemble the acceptance letter, essay, and recommendation, and email the complete package to info@hardheadveterans.com by October 1, 2026.
