Greater Than Gatsby Annual Photography Scholarship

Offered by Greater Than Gatsby

About this scholarship

The Greater Than Gatsby Annual Photography Scholarship awards two $1,000 scholarships to students pursuing creative-media studies at accredited nonprofit colleges, universities, vocational schools, or technical schools in the United States. Applicants may be recently accepted high-school students, undergraduates, or graduate students majoring in art, communications, English, film, fine arts, journalism, multimedia, photography, visual arts, or another field explicitly listed in the official instructions. Each student submits three original photographs, resized to no more than 1,000 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi, together with an essay of at least 500 words explaining an interest in photography and how it connects to the student’s career goals. The submission also identifies the applicant, school, and school financial-aid office so the sponsor can issue an award correctly. Files must be placed in a compressed ZIP folder and emailed to the scholarship address on the official page using the required “Gatsby Scholarship Submission – Your Name” subject format by May 1. Greater Than Gatsby announces recipients by June 1 and may request proof of identity. Award checks are made payable jointly to the student and school, so applicants should confirm that their institution can process a co-payable scholarship check.
